As we kick off this new year we already have lots of events in the works.
Bloomingdales
Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens
Barnes and Noble, Miele, Art Walk, Miami, Pavillion Furniture, Miami, and more. We are also hoping to get involved with Habitat for Humanity in the near future.
However, our membership is much more than our board. You are all accomplished, talented and savvy. Let’s take this opportunity to brainstorm a bit. What ideas do you have that will make IFDA and our Florida Chapter even better? What can we do to make being a member more rewarding? What types of events would you like to see us have? Would you like us to host seminars? Would a luncheon with a motivating and interesting speaker be a good idea? Do you like field trips to historic homes? What about visiting vendors to the trade? How can we increase and retain our members? I am sure you all can come up with some fabulous ideas.
We invite you to share your suggestions here in the comment box below or email any one on the board directly. We can talk about it at our next event but it would also be great to see you at a board meeting so we could brainstorm together! Our board meets once a month on the second Tuesday at 9:00 am at Capitol Lighting. Everyone is welcome to attend. I have always found the more I am involved, the more rewarding my experience. Participation is the key to getting the most out of your IFDA membership.
Marsha,
Thanks for such welcoming and inspiring thoughts for a great IFDA 2014. You are so right; Great things are in store for those who actively engage in all IFDA has to offer. Our past president, the esteemed Bev Stewart has set us on a oath to success: jump in and enjoy a great year. We look forward to seeing many new faces. See you all at next event:
Bloomies…..
I am a former IFDA member from the Arizona chapter. I just moved to Florida and I’m working for a workroom in Altamonte Springs. I’m wondering if we would benefit from an IP membership being 3 hours from your location. Could you tell me how many members are in the Florida chapter and how many live in close proximity to the Orlando area (if any)? Are there any other workrooms in your partnership program?
Thanks for your help!
Linda Tully
Linda, Thanks for your comment and for getting in touch with us. I have forwarded your inquiry to our board and you will hear back shortly. We would love for you to join us! We have a fantastic chapter.
Much excitement brewing about our “Walk In The Park” today at the exotic Morikami Gardens in Boca Raton.
Also received confirmation that our shiney new student member: Pauline LaPierre plans to join us at our March 17, 4:30pm meeting; Pauline will get to meet our visiting National IFDA President: Diane Fairburn. All good things. Meting will be followed by latest and greatest from Arteriors rep at the Boca Raton Capitol Lighting showroom. Come join us.
