It is with great sadness to share with you the passing of  a very special lady.

Her beautiful smile will be shining from above.  She was a beautiful and talented woman, accomplished Interior Designer,  a FIFDA  (Fellow of the Interior Furnishings and Design Assciation)  and dedicated to rebuilding our Florida Chapter, and so much more.  We will miss her.

Myra Schwartz, FIFDA
IFDA mourns the loss of Myra Schwartz, FIFDA who passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015.  Myra joined IFDA on January 1, 1992 and served in various leadership positions in the Florida Chapter including Chapter President, Treasurer and Vice President of Communications.  In addition to her tenure of service as a committed volunteer leader of the Florida Chapter, Myra was a past member of the Association’s Nominating Committee and served in multiple leadership positions within the IFDA Educational Foundation including Chair in 2013. A recipient of the IFDA Honorary Recognition Award in 2011, Myra achieved the designation of IFDA Fellow in 2013.Myra received her BFA in Fine and Studio Arts from the School of Art and Design Institute of Chicago and a certificate in Culinary Arts Design from Purdue University.  President of Myra R. Schwartz Associates, Inc., she was an accomplished commercial interior designer, specializing in hospitality and healthcare design.  Myra was a talented concert pianist. An active member of the Boca Raton community, Myra was a member of the choir at Temple Beth El and served as a volunteer with a host of local organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, the Boca Raton Historical Society and the Pride Center of Florida.Funeral services were held in Boca Raton on April 13th. Myra is survived by her daughters Lori Shapiro and Sheryl Martin (husband Rollie), grandchildren Jeremy and Stefani Martin and Elizabeth and Adam Shapiro, great-grandchildren J.R. and MacKenna Martin and her sister Ellen Gacke (husband Leonard).Donations in Myra’s memory may be made to Temple Beth El, 333 SW 4th St Boca Raton, FL 33432.Myra will be remembered for her charm, friendship and continued dedication to IFDA.
