The Auctioneer’s gavel has rapped down for the last time on Take a Seat 2015, but memories will linger on. Spirits were uplifted and hearts were touched. The creativity of the Seat Designers was extraordinary and inspired us all.
Let’s celebrate a few of the highlights of this very special Second Annual Take a Seat event at RFA Decor.
Representing IFDA International Sponsor, The Shade Store, are Julie Canter and Carolyn Gardner, with Michael Peterson, Publisher of Luxe Interiors + Design, our Take a Seat Media Sponsor, and his wife, Polly, and IFDA members Wanda Gozdz and Elizabeth Zecca.
Marci Bolling and Armand Bolling, Sales Consultant at RFA Decor, and IFDA Florida President Elect Elizabeth Zecca smile for the camera.

A packed house is eager for the auctioneer to start the bidding. The setting among the fine art was fitting.
Auctioneer Tom Weibrecht came all the way from Boston to help raise money for our special cause.
And the first chair coming down the red carpet and going up for bid is…….
The lively audience enthusiastically applauds the first sale!
The top sale went to “The O Chair” inspired by one cause, early detection testing for ovarian cancer but benefitting another, KidSanctuary Campus. It was lovingly created by IFDA Florida Sponsor Jeffery Rogow. Below the winning bidder is offered congratulations!
The auctioneer spots a raised paddle all the way in the back!
15 year old Student Seat Creator Emily Ferry shares a moment with a close friend. Emily’s chair was inspired by nature and created with many materials from her own backyard. Congratulations Emily, your garden bench brought one of the highest bids!
Emily Ferry is accompanied by Seat Creator Interior Designer Alexandra Karram with her “seat”, “Rooted in Love”.
As Take a Seat came to a close buyers stopped by the check out desk where member and Chapter Treasurer Vicki Kirsner, and IFDA Florida web master Chris Bennett assisted with payment and helped make arrangements to take their “seats” to their new home.
For all the time, talent and energy; for all the financial and heart felt support; for the incredible generosity of spirit of all who were involved, thank you for making Take a Seat a such a tremendous success.
KidSanctuary Campus is an inspiration to us all.
It’s a wrap everybody!
